About the Sweden Farmers Museum
The museum was established in 2005 to preserve the Town’s agricultural history; to educate adults and children through a variety of interactive activities; and to celebrate, at the community level, the successes and importance of local farming. The museum is located in a circa 1820’s farmhouse on the crest of the Niagara Escarpment at the entrance to Lakeview Cemetery. The Town is currently in the process of restoring the farmhouse to its original condition. Many agricultural artifacts have already been donated to the museum and are on display.

Looking for a place to hold your next small gathering?

The Sweden Farmers Museum is the place for you! The museum is housed in the former caretaker’s house and barn at Lakeview Cemetery. Two parlors have been remodeled and are suitable for use for small functions - meetings, lectures, classes, etc. Country Treasures, a downtown Brockport business, has already held weaving classes at the Farmers museum. Volunteers helped move the modern kitchen to the back of the house and return the middle kitchen area to a circa 1840s kitchen. The modern kitchen, complete with new appliances, allows the Farmers Museum to be used for catered functions. Families with loved ones being buried at Lakeview Cemetery are able to use the house to have a small luncheon or coffee time following the burial. The location is convenient and the parlors provide an appropriate setting.
